Dr.Prathyush belongs to the illustrious lineage of the Pockanchery family, which has done stellar work overtime in the field of Ayurveda by embracing its purity and goodness. He has been particularly committed and dedicated to curing all kinds of ailments related to the Heart, liver, and kidneys amongst others, with a systematic treatment as prescribed in Ayurvedic medicine. Chandu Vaidyar<\/strong> \u2013 Chandu Vaidyar (1832-1905) was a well-known practitioner in the Pockanchery family during the Renaissance period. He had a large number of disciples, and war was very close to Sree
Narayana Guru.<\/p>

* Chathunny Vaidyar<\/strong> \u2013 As Chandu Vaidyar\u2019s brother, Chathunny Vaidyar plays a crucial role in Pockanchery Vaidyam. In the realm of Ayurveda, he used the unique \u2018Manodharma Chikithsa\u2019.<\/p>

* P. C. Ramakrishnan and Vasu Vaidyar are the sons of Chathunny Vaidyar –<\/p>

P C Ramakrishnan Vaidyar<\/strong> played several roles beyond that of a physician. PCR Vaidyar was also a renowned social worker, humanist, and one of the founding leaders of communism in the Manappuram area. He founded the Toddy Workers\u2019 Union in Ceylon and continued his political efforts in Malabar. He published well known articles in both English and Malayalam, with his most significant work being the book Manappurathinte Vikasanam. He not only cared for patients but also for the well-being of society. During a severe cholera outbreak, he played a pivotal role. Roaming the streets with a lantern in one hand and medicine in the other, he saved many lives, exemplifying his deep sense of humanity. Five out of his ten children have pursued careers in the medical profession. The late Dr. Vikram Singh, the late Dr. Jayathilakan, Dr. Premlal, and Dr. Siddhartha Sankar are Ayurvedic practitioners, while the late Dr. Indulal was a Homoeopathic practitioner.<\/p>

*Dr. P.R. Vikram Singh<\/strong> \u2013 Dr. P.R. Vikram Singh was P. C. Ramakrishnan Vaidyar\u2019s eldest son. After completing his official medical education at the Govt. Ayurveda College in Shoranur, he worked for the Kerala government as a Specialist Senior Medical Officer. He was famous for curing hundreds of people with Rheumatoid Arthritis.<\/p>

* Dr. P.R. Jayathilakan<\/strong> completed his medical education at the Government Ayurveda College in Shoranur and served the Kerala government as a Senior Medical Officer, retiring after 25 years of distinguished service. After retirement, he ventured into treating heart disease\u2014a pioneering effort for an Ayurvedic doctor at the time. His decision highlighted his deep faith in Ayurveda, immense courage, and dedication. During that period, angioplasty and bypass surgeries were largely inaccessible due to fear, apprehension, and financial constraints among the general populace. Consequently, his treatments quickly
gained popularity, earning him great respect and numerous awards from society. He was also known as “the doctor with a signature at heart.” Dr. Jayathilakan was renowned for his innovative therapeutic method, \u2018Samanvaya Chikithsa,\u2019 rooted in the Pockanchery Ayurvedic tradition. He exclusively used highly effective Ayurvedic medicines and demonstrated wisdom in ensuring that his treatments were both efficacious and free from side effects. Additionally, he encouraged his patients to incorporate specific exercises and dietary control into their daily routines. This holistic approach not only enhanced the effectiveness of the treatments but also led to faster recovery. Moreover, his methods were more affordable and provided a higher level of comfort for his patients.<\/p>

*Dr. P.R. Premlal<\/strong> \u2013 Dr.P.R.Premlal completed his graduation and post-graduation with first rank, receiving honours from Trivandrum Ayurveda College. He began his practice in the Valapad area as a Visha Vaidya (snake bite treatment specialist) and quickly became popular, with his legacy continuing to this day. His career started as a Government Medical Officer, and he rapidly rose to the positions of District Medical Officer (DMO), Joint Director, and Director of Ayurveda. His extensive knowledge, experience, administrative skills, and political acumen allowed him to excel as Director of Ayurveda, where he was known for his outstanding leadership. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to the field of Ayurveda, including the establishment of over a hundred new Ayurvedic hospitals, marking his era as a golden age for Ayurveda. After retiring as Director of Ayurveda from the Indian System of Medicine (ISM), he served as the Principal of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College in Palakkad for three years.<\/p>

* Dr.P.R. Sidharthasankar<\/strong> \u2013 Dr P R Sidharthasankar is an ophthalmologist and the youngest member of the Pockanchery family. He attended Vaidyarathnam Ayurveda College in Ollur. He became well known in Ayurvedic Ophthalmology after using \u2018Tharppanakriya\u2019 to treat serious eye problems. Excessive exposure to television, computers, and other electronic devices can harm the eyes and lead to a variety of eye problems. He is also the most active in doing numerous medical research studies.<\/p>
